ibnchannel.id – All of Bali Governor Wayan Koster’s policy instruments have received full support from the Minister of Environment/Head of the Environmental Management Agency (LHK/BPLH) Hanif Faisol Nurofiq.

Minister Hanif is ready to stand by Governor Koster if there are parties who do not comply with the policy instruments addressing the waste problem in Bali.

“What Governor Bali (Wayan Koster) is doing right now is something we should be proud of. Our hope is that all the regents and mayors in Bali can work together, and this continues with future administrations,” said Minister of Environment Hanif Faisol Nurofiq at Sidakarya Beach, South Denpasar, on Tuesday, May 27, 2025.

He emphasized that Bali must be protected by all parties because Bali is Indonesia’s magnet in the eyes of the world. Bali, with its iconic resources and a strong tourism economy, even contributes the largest national foreign exchange in the tourism sector, which macroeconomically influences Bali’s economy. Therefore, Bali is an icon that must not be neglected.

“First, in terms of waste, all the instruments carried out by the Governor, Mayors, and Regents must be ensured to be implemented on the ground. I firmly stand behind the Governor (Koster) to uphold the waste management norms in Bali,” he said.

He also stated that he will use his authority to ensure that the people of Bali adhere to all of the Bali provincial government’s policies.

“I will use my authority to ensure that these instruments from the Governor are adhered to by all of us. I will use both curative and repressive approaches, if necessary, without hesitation, to protect Bali,” he asserted.

This PAN politician emphasized that he is not afraid to confront any party in order to change the mindset of the people in handling the waste issue in Bali.

“I want to ensure that Bali quickly changes its approach to waste management, and we will monitor this through the instruments mandated by Law No. 32 of 2009,” he said.

He called on all residents of Bali to adhere to all regulations regarding waste management that have been issued by the Bali Government. In addition, the Minister of Environment will continue to focus on environmental cleanliness and waste management in Bali.

For your information, here are some of the policy instruments that Governor Koster has issued related to resolving the waste problem in Bali, such as Bali Governor Regulation No. 47 of 2019 on Source-Based Waste Management, Bali Governor Circular No. 09 of 2025 on the Bali Clean Waste Movement, Bali Provincial Regulation No. 5 of 2011 on Waste Management, Bali Governor Regulation No. 97 of 2018 on the Restriction of Single-Use Plastic Waste, and Bali Governor Regulation No. 95 of 2018 on Regional Policies and Strategies in Household Waste and Similar Household Waste Management (Jakstrada).***
