ibnchannel.id – Bali Governor Wayan Koster has taken firm steps to deal with the rampant violations by foreign nationals (WNA) in Bali. In a meeting with the Head of the Bali Immigration Directorate General Regional Office, Parlindungan, Tuesday (6/5), Koster stated that he would form a joint team to minimize the presence of problematic or naughty tourists on the Island of the Gods.
This team will involve elements of the Immigration Office, Satpol PP, and Pecalang. They will be deployed directly to the field to carry out integrated and comprehensive supervision of foreigner activities, especially those deemed to deviate from Balinese laws and cultural norms.
“It must be made integrated together, we cannot act partially. This concerns the image of Bali and the authority of the state,” said Governor Koster at Jayasabha, Denpasar.
According to him, the starting point of supervision begins when foreigners set foot in Bali via the airport. Therefore, immigration services must not only be fast and comfortable, but also selective.
“If there are foreign nationals who have criminal problems, there is no tolerance, they must be dealt with firmly,” he said.
This step is a concrete response to the Balinese people’s concerns over the actions of a number of tourists who act arbitrarily, including misusing visas, violating traffic laws, and insulting local customary values.
Meanwhile, the Head of the Bali Immigration Office, Parlindungan, expressed his support for the Bali Governor’s initiative. He considered cross-agency coordination very important in maintaining the quality and dignity of Balinese tourism.
“We are ready to fully synergize with the Bali Provincial Government. Moreover, the number of foreign nationals entering continues to increase every year. This is a shared challenge,” he explained.
With the formation of this joint team, the Bali Provincial Government emphasizes that Balinese tourism in the future will not only prioritize quantity, but also quality. Tourists who want to enjoy the beauty of Bali must also respect local rules and culture. There is no more room for those who damage the image of this island.***
