ibnchannel.id – Coinciding with the commemoration of National Education Day 2025, the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia (KBRI) in Moscow, Russia, officially launched Rumah Nusantara, a center for Indonesian education and culture (2/5). The establishment of this center is part of the Indonesian Embassy in Moscow’s efforts to promote and expand Indonesian education and cultural diplomacy on the global stage, especially in Russia. The opening ceremony was also attended by Indonesian students (Permira) Moscow, a number of Russian students from MGIMO University, Moscow and representatives of the Indonesian Embassy in Moscow.

“This is a very important and historic day,” said the Indonesian Ambassador to Russia and Belarus, Jose Antonio Morato Tavares. “I hope that with the presence of Rumah Nusantara, the international community, especially Russia, will get to know and love Indonesia even more.”

Furthermore, Ambassador Tavares believes that the presence of Rumah Nusantara can be a bridge to strengthen cooperation between Indonesia and Russia in the fields of education and culture. “In the future, I hope that Rumah Nusantara KBRI Moscow will further strengthen relations between the two countries,” he added.

Ambassador Tavares also appreciated the opening momentum which coincided with National Education Day. “This is the right time. Hopefully Rumah Nusantara can encourage the improvement of diplomatic relations between Indonesia and Russia, especially in the education sector,” he said.

He also advised Indonesian students in Russia to be serious in pursuing their education. “Take advantage of this golden opportunity to develop yourself, so that in the future you can contribute to Indonesia’s development. We must be able to emulate countries such as Singapore and Japan, which have advanced thanks to the strength of their human resources.”

On that occasion, the Indonesian Embassy in Moscow in collaboration with the Indonesian Student Association in Russia in the Moscow region (Permos) also awarded the Ki Hajar Dewantara Award to Indonesian students in Russia who had achieved at the international level. “Congratulations to the award recipients. Hopefully the spirit of Ki Hajar Dewantara will continue to inspire and become the spirit of education at Rumah Nusantara,” concluded Ambassador Tavares as quoted from kemlu.go.id, Wednesday 7 May 2025.
