The Bali Regional Office of the Directorate General of Corrections (Ditjenpas) hosted this event to mark the Republic of Indonesia’s 80th anniversary of independence.
The presence of the Kakanwil, accompanied by the Head of the General Administration and Administration Division, I Nengah Sukadana, demonstrated the strong collaboration between the Ministry of Law and Human Rights (Kemenkum) and the Bali Regional Office of the Directorate General of Corrections (Kanwil).

Decky Nurmansyah, Head of the Directorate General of Corrections’ Bali Regional Office, indicated in his report that 3,199 offenders received General Remission in 2025, including 3,190 inmates and 9 child inmates.
Furthermore, as a token of appreciation for the Tenth Anniversary of the Proclamation of Indonesian Independence, the government also granted Tenth Remission to 3,370 inmates and 16 juvenile inmates who were eligible for sentence reductions.
Furthermore, reading the remarks of the Minister of Immigration and Corrections of the Republic of Indonesia, the Regional Secretary of Bali Province, Dewa Made Indra, stated that the granting of remissions and sentence reductions to inmates and juvenile inmates is not solely voluntary by the government.
“Rather, this is a form of appreciation and reward for inmates and juvenile inmates who have diligently and meticulously participated in the development programs organized by the correctional technical implementation unit,” he explained.
The Head of the Bali Regional Office of the Ministry of Law, Eem Nurmanah, expressed her appreciation for the remissions as a tangible manifestation of the state’s concern for inmates who have demonstrated good behavior and actively participated in correctional programs.
“This is not just a reduction in their sentences, but also an important opportunity for them to continue improving themselves and preparing to reintegrate into society,” said Eem Nurmanah.
Through the remissions, it is hoped that the inmates will be further motivated to comply with the rules and be prepared for future social reintegration.
The synergy demonstrated by the Bali Regional Office of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights and the Bali Regional Office of the Directorate General of Corrections (DGPA) at this event affirms their shared commitment to creating a humane and effective correctional system to restore inmates to productive roles for the nation
