ibnchannel.id – Ahead of the Republic of Indonesia’s 80th anniversary, InJourney Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC) is instilling the spirit of independence in the key places it controls.
The Nusa Dua in Bali, the Mandalika in Lombok, the Golo Mori in West Manggarai, and even the ITDC office in Jakarta are all decorated in vibrant red and white. Hundreds of flags, decorations, and independence-themed ornaments are artistically displayed, instilling pride and delight in visitors and the community.
In addition to enlivening the atmosphere, ITDC organizes a variety of community development events as a physical expression of its concern for the community. This series of activities begins with a pilgrimage to the Heroes’ Cemeteries (TMP) in various locations to honor and thank the nation’s liberation fighters who gave their lives for Indonesia’s independence.
According to ITDC Acting Corporate Secretary Zahir Satria, the commemoration of Independence Day is more than just remembering history; it is also a time to celebrate the services of our heroes and rekindle their fighting spirit in today’s world.
“Through different community development programs, ITDC attempts to deepen relationships with the community while reinforcing our commitment to making a genuine contribution to the nation’s progress and sustainable development,” he said.
The pilgrimage will be solemnly held at the Praya Heroes’ Memorial Park in Central Lombok on August 14, 2025; the Margarana Heroes’ Memorial Park in Tabanan, Bali on August 15, 2025; the Kalibata Heroes’ Memorial Park in Jakarta on August 19, 2025; and at Golo Mori, West Manggarai, which will coincide with the commemoration on August 17, 2025.
This entire series of pilgrimages serves as a lead-up to the culmination of the 80th anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia on August 17, 2025, when ITDC will hold simultaneous flag-raising ceremonies in all the tourism areas it manages. This memorable moment will involve various elements of society, from students and village officials to local community leaders, as a manifestation of togetherness in celebrating independence while strengthening a sense of unity.
Especially at The Mandalika, the vibrancy of the 80th Indonesian Independence Day commemoration will be further enhanced by the involvement of the 2025 State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) Bhakti Volunteers, who will take part in ceremonies and various community social activities. At The Nusa Dua, visitors and tourists will be treated to a captivating cultural parade showcasing the rich traditions of the archipelago. Meanwhile, at The Mandalika, the distinctive beat of the Gendang Beliq (Beliq Drum) will accompany the spirit of independence, creating an atmosphere filled with energy and pride.
Furthermore, various typical 17th August competitions, such as blindfolded flag-finding, seawater relay races, sack races, balloon dancing competitions, and tug-of-war competitions, will be held. These activities serve as a platform for togetherness that strengthens relationships among residents, visitors, and all stakeholders, while fostering a sense of unity and love for the homeland.
“By upholding the spirit of Together for a Progressive Indonesia, ITDC “We interpret the commemoration of the 80th Indonesian Independence Day as a momentum to strengthen ties with the community, preserve cultural heritage, and rekindle the spirit of unity in every tourism area we manage. Through collaboration and the involvement of all parties, we are committed to continuing to make a real contribution to the advancement of tourism and national development,” Zahir emphasized. **
