ibnchannel.id – The victim who drowned in Mengening Waterfall was finally found by a joint SAR team on Friday (November 21, 2025) at around 10:30 a.m. WITA (Central Indonesian Time). The joint SAR team had begun the search at 9:45 a.m. WITA.
The search focused on the area below the waterfall using snorkeling techniques. “We conducted a manual search because the target appeared to be submerged,” explained Kadek Donny Indrawan, Coordinator of the Buleleng Search and Rescue Post.
When the body of Gede Angga Putra Pratama (15) was brought to land, the family broke down in tears. At the family’s request, the victim was taken to the funeral home in a vehicle from the Kubutambahan Police.
Personnel directly involved in the search revealed that the waterfall was difficult to navigate due to the strong currents and murky water. Visibility below the surface was approximately 1 meter.
As previously reported, a young man from Banjar Dinas Tegal, Mengening Village, drowned while bathing at Mengening Waterfall, Buleleng Regency, on Thursday (November 20, 2025). The incident began when the victim was bathing with two other people, when they unexpectedly drowned. Two people were rescued, but Gede Angga Putra Pratama (15) was missing.
The two-day SAR operation involved a joint SAR team from the Buleleng SAR Post, Kubutambahan Police, Community Police (Bhabinkamtibmas), Buleleng Police Water Police, Kubutambahan District Police (Bhabinsa), Buleleng Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD), Buleleng Balawista (Balawista Buleleng), Bhuana Bali Rescue, the victim’s family, and the local community. **
