The woman was deported because she was determined to have violated her stay visa by running a retreat workshop in Bali on Wednesday September 18, 20225.
The situation began with a public report of JRG’s suspected operations in the Seminyak area. Following up on the report, the Immigration Intelligence and Enforcement Team (Inteldakim) carried out field surveillance and internet monitoring.
As a result, it was discovered that JRG held a “Intimacy Mastery Retreat” program from September 4-8, 2025, at a villa in Seminyak.The Intimacy Mastery Retreat is a private class program that teaches practices and strategies for intimate relationships, emotional closeness, and sexual activity using a variety of supporting equipment.
This paid exercise drew participation from several countries. During the activity, photographs of sexually related equipment were discovered.
JRG landed in Bali on September 4, 2025, with a Visa on Arrival (VOA) valid till October 4, 2025. However, he abused his stay permit by engaging in commercial activities that did not correspond with his permit, such as a sexual retreat.
On September 16, 2025, the Ngurah Rai Immigration Intelligence Team apprehended JRG as he was preparing to board a flight to Jakarta from I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport.Based on the investigation, it was determined that JRG violated Article 75 paragraph (1) of Law Number 6 of 2011 concerning Immigration. JRG was subject to Immigration Administrative Action (TAK) in the form of deportation and detention.
The deportation took place on September 18, 2025, at 4:30 PM WITA (Central Indonesian Time) on an EVA Air flight from Denpasar to Taipei to Los Angeles.
The Head of the Ngurah Rai Class I Special Immigration Office, Winarko, emphasized that his office would continue to tighten supervision of foreigners’ activities in Bali.
