ibnchannel.id – Ahead of the 80th Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia, InJourney Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC) is bringing the spirit of independence to the premier destinations it manages. The vibrant red-and-white atmosphere fills every corner of The Nusa Dua in Bali, The Mandalika in Lombok, The Golo Mori in West Manggarai, and even ITDC’s office in Jakarta. Hundreds of flags, decorations, and independence-themed ornaments are beautifully displayed, creating a sense of pride and joy for visitors and the surrounding communities.
Beyond enlivening the atmosphere, ITDC is also holding a series of community development activities as a concrete expression of care for local communities. The series began with visits to Heroes Cemeteries (TMP) across different regions, as a form of respect and gratitude to the nation’s heroes who sacrificed their lives for Indonesia’s independence.
Acting Corporate Secretary of ITDC, Zahir Satria, stated, “For us, commemorating independence is not only about remembering history, but also a moment to honor the services of our heroes and reignite their spirit of struggle in today’s life. Through various community development activities, ITDC strives to strengthen ties with local communities while reaffirming our commitment to making a tangible contribution to the nation’s progress and sustainable development.”
The visits were solemnly conducted at TMP Praya, Central Lombok on August 14, 2025, TMP Margarana, Tabanan, Bali on August 15, 2025, TMP Kalibata, Jakarta on August 19, 2025, and at Golo Mori, West Manggarai on August 17, 2025, coinciding with Independence Day. This series of events served as a prelude to the peak celebration of Indonesia’s 80th Independence Day on August 17, 2025, when ITDC will hold simultaneous flag ceremonies across all managed tourism areas. The memorable moment will involve various community elements, including students, village officials, and local leaders, symbolizing togetherness in celebrating independence while strengthening the spirit of unity.
In The Mandalika, the celebration of the 80th Independence Day will be even more vibrant with the participation of the 2025 BUMN Volunteer Service Program, who will join the ceremony and various community activities. At The Nusa Dua, visitors and tourists will be treated to a stunning cultural parade showcasing the rich traditions of the archipelago. Meanwhile, in The Mandalika, the distinctive beats of Gendang Beliq will accompany the independence festivities, creating an atmosphere full of energy and pride.
In addition, traditional Independence Day competitions will be held, including blindfolded flag hunts, seawater relay races, sack race relays, dancing balloon contests, and friend-pulling games. These activities foster togetherness, strengthen bonds among residents, visitors, and stakeholders, while also nurturing unity and love for the homeland.
“With the spirit of ‘Together for an Advanced Indonesia,’ ITDC sees the 80th Independence Day as a moment to strengthen ties with communities, preserve cultural heritage, and reignite the spirit of unity in every tourism destination we manage. Through collaboration and the involvement of all parties, we remain committed to continuously contributing to the advancement of tourism and the nation’s development,” Zahir affirmed.***
