ibnchannel.id – The Governor of Bali, Wayan Koster, welcomed Bank Indonesia’s program to expand the acceptance of cashless digital payment using Qris on Trans Metro Dewata (TMD).

In front of Governor Wayan Koster, the Head of Bank Indonesia’s Bali Provincial Office, Erwin Soeriadimadja, reported on Wednesday (Buda Keliwon, Ugu), August 6, 2025, at Jayasabha, that the use of Qris on Trans Metro Dewata will be launched on August 14, 2025.

For this, Bank Indonesia sought the Governor’s support, as the program will provide a two-month ticket discount of IDR 1,000 for Bali residents using Trans Metro Dewata, reducing the ticket price from IDR 4,400.

In addition to reporting on the Qris program, Bank Indonesia’s Bali office also requested support for the realization of the “Landmark of Love, Pride, and Understanding of the Rupiah” at Bajra Sandhi, Renon. This program, set to begin in September 2025, aims to raise awareness among the people of Bali about the Rupiah as a symbol of the sovereignty of the Republic of Indonesia.

At the end of the meeting, Governor Wayan Koster conveyed a message to Erwin Soeriadimadja to continue collaborating with the Bali Provincial Government in controlling inflation by implementing a monthly food aid program, particularly rice, for underprivileged communities in Bali.

“In the past, we had a cheap market operation program to address inflation. Now, we need to change the approach by directly providing rice assistance to underprivileged people or those with low purchasing power in Bali, on a by-name, by-address basis,” said Governor Koster, which was positively received by Erwin Soeriadimadja.

Where will the rice come from? Governor Koster stated that the rice would be sourced from village-owned enterprises (Bumdes) or cooperatives that manage local Balinese rice from the production of Bali’s farmers.

“In implementing this inflation-control program, we are also involving Bulog and village heads to ensure that rice aid reaches the right underprivileged recipients,” he emphasized.***
