GWK Cultural Park hosts PESTA RAKYAT 2025 to celebrate Indonesia's 80th Independence Day, blending cultural performances, mental health awareness, and youth empowerment in a week-long festival.

ibnchannel.id – GWK Cultural Park is hosting its yearly series of events, PESTA RAKYAT 2025 to commemorate the 80th anniversary of Indonesian independence,

According to Ch. Rossie Andriani, Director of Operations at GWK Cultural Park, as one of Bali’s largest and most popular cultural tourism destinations, GWK Cultural Park is dedicated to not only presenting the beauty of the Garuda Wisnu Kencana statue and daily cultural performances, but also to developing special activities for the entire community.

“We are conducting this Independence Day event to invite all Balinese people, particularly those from Bali, to join us in celebrating independence at the GWK Cultural Park. The participation of all segments of society on the 80th anniversary of Indonesian independence demonstrates the strength of our national values.

The spirit of mutual cooperation and diversity embodied in the motto of Bhinneka Tunggal Ika (Unity in Diversity) is consistent with the official theme of the 80th Indonesian Independence Day commemoration: United, Sovereign, Prosperous People, Advanced Indonesia,” he stated at a press conference at GWK on Monday, August 4, 2025, accompanied by Andre R. Prawiradisastra, GWK’s General Manager of Marketing Communication and Events. One of the standout features of this year’s People’s Party is the emphasis on public mental health, which will be sponsored by Bali Jimbaran Hospital.

GWK PESTA RAKYAT 2025 emphasizes the importance of mental wellness. Each performance will begin with “17 Seconds of Self-Appreciation,” an invitation to pause and admire oneself.

Pesta Rakyat aspires to contribute to the development of a psychologically healthy young generation as the foundation for a more united and advanced Indonesia by using concerts as a venue to express unpleasant feelings and improve social ties.

According to Dr. Komang Adhi Restudana, S.Ked, M.M., Director of Bali Jimbaran Hospital, mental health is a critical issue that must be addressed.

By focusing on mental health, we can build a better, happier, and more productive society. As a result, it is critical to prioritize mental health and allocate enough resources to promote mental well-being.

According to UNICEF data, Dr. Komang indicated that 40 percent of the Gen Z age group (those born between 1997 and 2012, or aged 12 to 27) suffer mental health concerns.

“And 60% of them are in Indonesia. However, in general, not only Gen Z, but all age groups require mental health reforms that are implemented jointly,” he noted during the People’s Party press conference at GWK.Generation Z is the younger generation born after Millennials but before Generation Alpha. Gen Z is described as the generation that grew up with digital technology and social media and is extremely adaptable.

However, he feels there is a fragile side to Gen Z that is caused by a variety of causes, including a lack of social contact, given that Gen Z individuals were compelled to self-isolate during the epidemic a few years back.So the term “sandwich generation” refers to those who financially support three generations: their parents, themselves, and children. They find themselves in the middle of two separate generations’ financial constraints, much like the contents of a sandwich placed between two pieces of bread. “Or like a strawberry that looks sweet but is ‘a bit fragile,'” he added.

As a result, at the next People’s Party at GWK on August 17, 2025, participants will be able to participate in Gen Z while simultaneously receiving mental health and personality assessments at a booth sponsored by Bali Jimbaran Hospital. This event is more than just entertainment; it also honors the virtues of togetherness, mutual cooperation, and the spirit of independence. This year’s People’s Party will take place from August 13 to 17, 2025.

The series of events will get off with MyMelali, a gourmet festival offering a range of local and Indonesian dishes. The event will conclude on August 17, 2025, with performances by The Changcuters, Pamungkas, King Nassar, and Dipha Barus, as well as local performers Barong Boys, Kis ft. Yessy Diana, Milledenials, Tika Pagraky, and Not So Koplo.

This combination offers not only energetic and inclusive entertainment, but also a proud showcase for Indonesia’s diverse cultural and musical identities.PESTA RAKYAT 2025 will also feature cultural acts from Banten and West Sumatra provinces as part of the Pentas Nusantara (National Festival).***
