ibnchannel.id – Polonia Immigration has deported two Indian nationals, identified by the initials SS and GS, who were proven to have misused their residence permits and violated criminal provisions under Law Number 6 of 2011 on Immigration.
This enforcement action began with a report from the public, received by the Foreigners Supervision Team (Tim PORA), which informed authorities about the suspicious presence of two Indian nationals in the area of Jl. Bajak V Gg. Bahagia, Medan Amplas, Medan City. Following up on this report, the Immigration Intelligence and Enforcement Team (Inteldakim) conducted a field operation on Saturday, June 28, 2025.
An on-site inspection found the two Indian nationals. The first, identified as SS, was holding an Indian Emergency Certificate valid only until April 4, 2015, and did not possess a valid or legal residence permit. There is also a strong suspicion that this individual entered Indonesia without passing through an official Immigration Checkpoint, a serious violation of Indonesian immigration law.
The second, identified as GS, was holding a valid Indian passport from October 22, 2019, to October 22, 2029. He entered Indonesia using a Visa on Arrival for tourism purposes, valid from November 19, 2024, to December 18, 2024, and had overstayed since December 19, 2024.
Documents and Evidence
During the search, the team also found several documents indicating attempts to conceal identity, including an ID card (KTP) and family card (KK) under different names.
Follow-Up Actions
Following intensive examination, the Polonia Immigration Office decided to deport one foreign national (initial GS) and place him on the blacklist to prevent re-entry into Indonesian territory. Meanwhile, further investigation is ongoing for the other foreign national (initial SS), in coordination with various parties, including the Civil Registry Office (Disdukcapil) and representatives of the Indian Government in Medan, as part of a preliminary investigation leading to Pro Justicia legal proceedings.
Commitment to Law Enforcement
“We will not tolerate any form of immigration violation. This is a clear example of our enforcement and proof that synergy between the public and authorities is crucial to maintaining the integrity of Indonesia’s territory,” emphasized the Head of Class I Immigration Office TPI Polonia Ridha Sah Putra in an official statement.
This press conference also served as a form of accountability and transparency to the public and media, affirming that immigration law enforcement is being carried out professionally and in a measured manner.***
