ibnchannel.id – The Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia, Gibran Rakabuming Raka, accompanied by Bali Governor Wayan Koster, conducted a working visit to Dauh Pala Market, Delod Peken Village, Tabanan District, on Saturday morning (July 5). The purpose of the visit was to directly monitor the prices of basic necessities and evaluate the region’s inflation potential.
The Vice President arrived at the location at around 7:30 AM Central Indonesia Time (WITA) and immediately walked through the market alleys, which were already bustling with local residents. Also present in the entourage were Tabanan Deputy Regent I Made Dirga and Bali Police Chief Inspector General Daniel Adityajaya.
During the visit, Gibran greeted and engaged in direct conversation with market vendors, checking the prices of staple goods such as shallots, garlic, and chilies. He even purchased 2 kilograms of shallots and 2 kilograms of garlic.
Gibran also bought porridge from a vendor, ordering 10 portions complete with chili sauce. He took the time to pose for photos and selfies with enthusiastic residents and vendors who welcomed his presence warmly.
The Vice President highlighted the prices of shallots and chilies in Bali compared to other regions, noting that while prices remain under control, seasonal factors need to be addressed. He also observed that the people’s purchasing powerremains relatively strong.
In addition to monitoring staple prices, Gibran inquired about the availability of MinyaKita (government-subsidized cooking oil) from the vendors. The government hopes the distribution of this subsidized oil remains smooth to maintain price stability and support household consumption.
This visit is part of the central government’s efforts, in collaboration with local governments, to maintain regional economic stability and strengthen synergy between central and regional authorities in controlling inflation.***
