ibnchannel.id – The Provincial Inspectorate of Bali conducted monitoring and evaluation of the implementation of single-use plastic restrictions and source-based waste management in the regencies/cities of Bali.

On the first day of the implementation, the Assistant Inspectorate Team for Region I (Inbanwil I) of the Provincial Inspectorate of Bali visited several regional agencies in Denpasar City Government on Tuesday (17/6).

Institutions’ Visit

Some of the government institutions visited include the Denpasar City Regional Inspectorate, the Denpasar City Agriculture Office, the Denpasar City Cleanliness and Environment Office, the North Denpasar Subdistrict Office, the South Denpasar Subdistrict Office, the East Denpasar Subdistrict Office, and the West Denpasar Subdistrict Office.

I Nyoman Gde Suarditha, the Assistant Inspector for Region I of the Provincial Inspectorate of Bali, stated that this activity is a follow-up to Bali Governor Regulation (Pergub) Number 97 of 2018 and Pergub Bali Number 47 of 2019 regarding the Restriction on the Generation of Single-Use Plastic Waste and Source-Based Waste Management in all government agencies in Bali Province.

“All regional agencies in Denpasar City have implemented source-based waste management, with organic waste processed through the creation of modern composting and biopore infiltration,” he explained.

Restriction on Single-Use Plastics

He also mentioned that the restriction on the use of single-use plastics has been implemented by limiting the use of plastic bags and plastic straws, as well as requiring government employees to use reusable water bottles (tumblers).

“The monitoring focuses on how the implementation of single-use plastic restrictions is being carried out in each regional agency,” he said.

“As well as whether the agencies have also implemented source-based waste management. Waste must be separated into organic, inorganic, and residual waste,” he added.

Suarditha emphasized that the Provincial Inspectorate of Bali fully supports the Bali Clean Waste Movement in accordance with the Bali Governor Circular Letter Number 09 of 2025

This ensured that the restriction on single-use plastic waste and waste management has been socialized and is effectively running in all government agencies in Bali Province.
