ibnchannel.id – The Mandalika brings a fresh new attraction in the form of watersport tourism at Kuta Beach Park (KBP). This was marked by the signing of a Cooperation Agreement (PKS) for the utilization of Beach Facility RR 2 between the Indonesia Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC) and PT Ocean Addict Lombok Indonesia, on Wednesday (June 4). The arrival of PT Ocean Addict Lombok Indonesia as a watersport activity provider at KBP positions The Mandalika as an investment magnet in the sport tourism sector.

General Manager of The Mandalika, Wahyu M. Nugroho, stated, “PT Ocean Addict Lombok Indonesia, which focuses on marine tourism, is expected to introduce a variety of new activities for domestic and international tourists, particularly in the watersport sector. Ocean Addict’s presence is part of ITDC’s continuous effort to enhance the destination’s appeal through experience-based tourism, especially supporting the development of sport tourism and marine tourism.”

As part of sustainable attraction development, Ocean Addict introduces several non-motorized watersport options at Kuta Beach Park, including stand-up paddle boarding, surfing, kiteboarding, and windwing. These activities are not only environmentally friendly but also offer a more immersive experience with nature.

The availability of watersport activities in the heart of the beach area not only expands the choices for visitors but is also expected to increase the length of tourist stays and create direct economic impacts for surrounding communities and Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs).

The cooperation between ITDC and PT Ocean Addict Lombok Indonesia will last for five years, from June 2025 to May 2030. The implementation will be evaluated every six months to ensure alignment with The Mandalika’s vision as The Ultimate Lifestyle Sportstainment Destination.

Director of PT Ocean Addict Lombok Indonesia, John Lachlan Coyle, welcomed the partnership as part of the company’s long-term commitment to supporting tourism development in The Mandalika. “We see The Mandalika as a strategic area with immense tourism growth potential. We aim to contribute meaningfully by offering safe, standardized marine tourism services aligned with the region’s character and development vision,” he said.

“With the synergy formed with PT Ocean Addict, The Mandalika further solidifies its position as a premier experience-based destination, offering not only natural beauty but also deep and immersive tourist activities. Furthermore, this cooperation opens greater opportunities for local businesses and communities to actively participate in building an inclusive and sustainable tourism ecosystem. This is a concrete step in orchestrating a region that is not only visually appealing but also rich in experience. The Mandalika is not just built to be visited, but to be enjoyed, explored, and grown together with tourists and local communities,” Wahyu concluded.***
