ibnchannel.id – The victim, who was previously reported to have fallen while retrieving a drone that had dropped into the stream of Nungnung Waterfall, Petang, Badung Regency, was finally found dead by the joint SAR team on Friday (23/5/2025).
This morning, 7 personnel from the Denpasar Search and Rescue Office moved to the location and conducted the search. According to the SAR operation plan, the search area was focused on the victim’s position from yesterday, which was wedged between large rocks. Meanwhile, there were also SRUs tasked with sweeping along the river. “What was done was to search around the victim, who was suspected of being trapped in the strong current. Various efforts have been made,” explained Made Widya Antara, the field coordinator.
During the search process, one personnel managed to hold the victim’s leg but encountered obstacles due to logs blocking the way. Not giving up, the team also tried to divert the water flow using tarps to reduce the current, allowing them to focus on removing the victim from the rock trap. “The challenge we faced earlier was the strong water flow coming from upstream, which made it difficult to remove the victim from the hole. So, we used a ganchu (hooked stick),” he explained.
Finally, around 13:46 WITA, the evacuation process was successfully completed, and the body of I Made Gede Tedy Putra Yana (19) was taken to Mangusada General Hospital using an ambulance from PMI Badung Regency.
