ibnchannel.id – The Chairwoman of the Bali Province PKK Mobilization Team, Putri Suastini Koster, expressed high appreciation to SMA Negeri 1 Seririt for its commitment to supporting environmental conservation programs, especially through source-based waste management and the innovation of Modern Teba within the school environment. She conveyed this during an audience with the Principal of SMA Negeri 1 Seririt, Ngurah Putu Wiswayana, held at Jayasabha on Tuesday (May 20).
During the meeting, Principal Ngurah Putu Wiswayana stated that the presence of Modern Teba is a concrete form of character education through direct practice in preserving the environment and culture. “We want our students not only to be academically smart but also aware and caring about the environment and local heritage,” he said.
To this end, the school actively instills in students how to manage source-based waste and Modern Teba so that students develop character and responsibility for the waste produced in their environment.
Responding to this, Mrs. Putri Koster expressed her appreciation for the school community’s spirit, which not only implements waste sorting and processing but also creates Modern Teba as an educational and ecological space that combines local wisdom with simple technology.
“I am very proud of SMA Negeri 1 Seririt. They not only implement waste management from its source but also build Modern Teba as a tangible form of preserving Balinese culture combined with environmental innovation. This is a real embodiment of the philosophy of Nangun Sat Kerthi Loka Bali,” said Putri Koster.
The Modern Teba developed by SMA Negeri 1 Seririt functions as a productive green space, a place for utilizing organic waste for compost, cultivating family medicinal plants (TOGA), and small-scale ecological farming. This concept is not only educational but also strengthens the values of mutual cooperation and sustainability.***
