Bali Ministry of Law strengthens restorative justice policy with a visit to Denpasar High Court.

ibnchannel.id – Head of the Bali Ministry of Law Regional Office, Wahyu Eka Putra, accompanied the group from the Coordinating Ministry for Law, Human Rights, Immigration, and Corrections (Kemenko Kumham Imipas) on a working visit to the Denpasar High Court (PT), Thursday (15/5). This visit aims to strengthen synergy and synchronization of the implementation of restorative justice policies in the Bali jurisdiction.

The group was led by the Deputy for Legal Coordination, Nofli, along with a number of other high-ranking officials, including Special Staff for Strategic Issues Karjono, Expert Staff for Cooperation and Inter-Institutional Relations Cahyani Suryandari, Assistant Deputy for Legal Material and Restorative Justice Robianto, and Head of the Public Relations and Information Technology Bureau Mamur Saputra.

In the meeting, Nofli said that this visit was part of an effort to hear directly the views and input from judicial institutions regarding restorative justice practices, as well as strengthen cross-sector collaboration.

“We want to strengthen synergy and listen to the views of judicial institutions regarding the implementation of restorative justice, especially in the context of law in Bali,” said Nofli.

The Chief Justice of the Denpasar High Court, Sujatmiko, welcomed the visit and emphasized the importance of a clear legal framework to avoid multiple interpretations in its implementation. He also said that the Supreme Court had paid attention to the restorative justice approach in handling certain cases.

The Deputy Chief Justice of the Denpasar High Court, Abdul Halim Amran, also emphasized the need for synchronization between law enforcement institutions, considering that there are often differences in the mechanisms in the implementation of restorative justice.

The Head of the Bali Kemenkum Regional Office, Wahyu Eka Putra, expressed his support for strengthening the restorative justice policy, as well as the importance of the active role of all elements of law enforcement in Bali in building effective synergy.

This activity is expected to be a concrete step in building more solid coordination between the Coordinating Ministry for Law and Human Rights Imipas, the Ministry of Law and Human Rights, and judicial institutions, in order to encourage the implementation of more optimal restorative justice in Indonesia.***
