ibnchannel.id – Based on the monitoring of the Saudi Arabian Hajj Pilgrimage Organizing Officers’ (PPIH) Food Sanitation and Supervision Team for Health, the highest air temperature today, Friday (9/5) in Medina is estimated to reach 45 degrees Celsius. Meanwhile, the air temperature tomorrow afternoon will be around 41-45 degrees Celsius. To anticipate health problems, the government has provided various logistics for medicines and health supplies for Hajj pilgrims.

The Ministry of Health, through the Indonesian Hajj Health Clinic (KKHI), distributed 1 box of oral rehydration solution and disposable masks to each Hajj pilgrim to the Hajj Health Workers (TKHK). The provision of personal health logistics for pilgrims to TKHK is intended to ease the guests of Allah in carrying their personal needs.

On several occasions, the Airport Health Team also distributed masks to pilgrims who had just arrived at Amir Muhammad bin Abdul Aziz Airport (AMAA), Medina.

“This step was taken as a preventive measure to prevent the spread of infectious diseases and dehydration amidst the extreme hot weather in Saudi Arabia,” said the Head of Health Division of PPIH Saudi Arabia, Dr. Mohammad Imran as quoted from kemkes.go.id, Sunday 11 May 2025.

The provision of oralit aims to replace body fluids lost due to physical activity and high temperatures. Meanwhile, masks are distributed to prevent the transmission of viral infections and protect the respiratory tract of pilgrims from dust and air pollution.

Data from the Ministry of Health also noted that the diseases of the 2018-2024 Hajj pilgrims include pneumonia, ARI, heart attacks, and strokes, which are the most common risk factors for Hajj pilgrims in Saudi Arabia. Therefore, masks and oralit are part of efforts to prevent the transmission of diseases and air pollution.
